Welcome to Troop 818!

Troop 818 is a Scout led troop that has the goal of developing the leaders of tomorrow who are guided by the values of Scouting: God, Country, Family and Self. We are chartered by Serra Catholic School located in Rancho Santa Margarita, CA. Although we are chartered by a Catholic School we welcome scouts from all faiths. We hold troop meetings the second and fourth Tuesday of every month at 7:00 pm at Serra Catholic School. Our troop has over 65 registered Scouts who range in ages from 11 to 17 1/2.

Fall 2010 Adult Leader Backpack Awareness Course

The purpose of the Fall 2010 Adult Leader Backpack Awareness Course is to inform adults on how to plan, organize, safely lead, and successfully complete High Adventure backcountry treks and other outings.

Summer BOR - July 20th, apply by 18th

Our only summer BOR will be July 20th, Tuesday 7pm at Serra Library. The deadline to appy is July 18th, Sunday. The regular BOR schedule will resume in September.

June BOR

Our next BOR will be June 15th, Tuesday 7pm at Serra Library. The deadline to appy is June 13, Sunday.

Make sure your parent can volunteer the whole hour of BOR before you request the BOR unless you are an Eagle Scout and you can stay the whole time to help.

Summer Backpack to Sequoia National Park

Mr. McGinnis and Mr. Beck will be leading our summer backpack trek to Sequoia National Park this year. We’ll be hiking from Crescent Meadow to the Nine Lakes Basin and back. We’ll take a day to climb Eagle Scout Peak to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Scouting in America. The total mileage will approximate 50 miles with 7000 feet of elevation gain along the way.
